4 Alcantara on 4 days rest…threw 210 pitches in 2 games this week.
Ace Alcantara was tasked with making two starts on four days’ rest this week. On April 22, he pitched seven innings of 101 pitches, three hits, two walks, and seven strikeouts in a 6-1 win over the Gochuk Kium Heroes to pick up his 11th win of the season (5-0).
Alcantara struggled with the SSG lineup, but he was up to the task of being the ace. He went seven innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on nine hits (one home run) on 109 pitches with four walks and three strikeouts. He threw 210 pitches in two games this week, but the offense couldn’t provide enough run support. He utilized his fastball (65), which topped out at 156 mph, and mixed in forkballs (30), sliders (13) and curves (1) to cook the batsmen.
It was SSG who struck first. Alcantara gave up a leadoff double to Shin-soo Choo in the top of the first inning to the right side of the infield. The next batter, Choi Ji-hoon, laid down a sacrifice bunt, but Alcantara caught the ball and made a bad throw to first base, allowing Shin-soo Choo to score from second to make it 1-0. In the next at-bat, Park Sung-ho stole second base to shake Alcantara, who then hit a two-run homer to left field to make it 2-0.
With the score tied at 2-2 in the top of the fourth, Alcantara was hit by Ha Jae-hoon. One out later, Park singled to right, but Alcantara seemed to stop the SSG rally by throwing Park out at first base when Jeon Ui-san came to bat. However, Jeon Ui-san hit a double down the left field line to put runners on second and third, and Ha hit a two-run shot to left-center field to make it 4-2. It was a 155-kilometer-per-hour fastball, and Ha got it right. 토토사이트
Ha continued his hot hitting with a two-run inside-the-park home run to left-center field in the second game of the series on June 26, a two-run shot that lifted Korea to a 7-5 victory.
SSG runs away, Doosan’s bats stick around…Moon Seung-won gets sent down early
The Doosan bats were relentless in their pursuit of SSG whenever they could get away with it. In the bottom of the first inning, Kim Jae-ho and Rojas hit back-to-back singles and Yang Yang-ji walked to load the bases.
